Music and Math are intertwined and cannot be dissociated. The music notes and rests can be identified and named by their mathematical values.
For instance, The whole note, the half note note, the quarter note, the eighth note, the sixteenth note, the thirty second note, and the sixty fourth note can also be named and/or identify as follow: 1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32, 1/64. This is a practical way to expand the student’s knowledge of the connection between different academic contents such as Music, Math, English, Geography, Social studies etc..

The keyboard is the most prolific of all instruments for many reasons. to name a few, the range of the piano covers the range of most if not all the existing diatonic instruments from the harp to the piccolo.
The piano range is still beyond those two instruments. It is very useful and reliable for singers and for the tuning of string instruments such as the guitar and wind instruments. Students are encouraged to learn, memorize, and draw an octave of the keyboard.
